Why shouldnt Girls have Fun?

Why shouldn’t girls have fun?

Why shouldn’t girls have fun? What is fun? According to Oxford dictionary, fun is defined as amusement, light hearted pleasure. As per my knowledge there was never gender discrimination or any bias in fun in this world. Whether it was a fun by girls or guys, it all just had fun and fun and fun. I say lots of fun.

On April 21, there was a farewell party hosted by the Nalsar University of Law Students in one of the pubs in Hyderabad. There were girls and boys in the team. They all abode the rules and regulations set by the pub. It was night 10:30 pm and they were leaving to the home in cabs. Perhaps they were adieuing to their classmates as it is their last meet together. Then suddenly a media reporter creeps ups shooting these young ladies and portrays them as the victims of pub culture or more explicitly the women who washed off their ethics and values. The context of the event was different and the portraying of the video in the channel is different. All they want to show is that these women has been spoiled despite studying in reputed universities.

There was one other video by the same media channel, which shoots women in various angles. Angles by this I mean, the camera man only targets women and not men. He goes closer to the women and keeps moving his camera from women bosom to their legs that are exposed. He just runs his camera in to the women’s t shirt and shows the cleavage no matter it is small or big. He then runs the camera over and over her and literally shows that every camera person in the media has a right to rape women with their video shooting skills. Oh am sorry, here even the 50 percent credit goes to video editor who mesmerizes himself and releases orgasms while editing and paves way to share those orgasms with those stereotypical audience go crazy.

Then here comes the anchor who says “These days’ women are spoiled. They will dance with anyone –they dance with their boy friend friends and do anything they want”. She keeps talking and uses the obscure language in the video footage and portrays those students as the passers of pub culture. She tells that women are spoiled by pub culture and are under the influence of western culture.

Here I don’t understand one point, if dancing in pubs is western culture, then what anchor puts on the dress – blazer suit in TV channel – Is it not a product of western culture? Why these news anchors can’t were saris of at least salwar kameez ? In our traditional homes, it is most common to see women wearing plat and they indeed apply oil, make sure they have flowers tied up in the hair and also carry “Bottu”. These are the basic rules of any traditional woman in south India. Instead we find these anchors straightening their hair and apply mascara, glossy lipsticks, lip balm which was never a part of our South Indian culture. Why can’t the anchor and the TV channel put up all these things and spread the values of traditionalism?

It is only because there are certain rules and regulations which followed will give you the elements of professionalism and is dynamic. One cannot apply the rules in professionalism as we do things in our homes. There is a universal conduct followed by news channels the way they have to air the news and present themselves in front of audience. This in turn helps them to raise their TRPs and sustain their lives. You cannot expect or cannot dream a news anchor with full of oil, bangles, flowers and reading news. Likewise is the case with these students who were having fun with friends and not sex in the pubs. The intent of the party was farewell and not the spread of prostitution. They had a simple party and just fun with their friends and piling up memories for their lives.

Videotaping women without their consent is a breach of law and showing them as products of pub culture when they are celebrating their farewell is another breach of law. They were few people venting out their anger on these poor students and thrashing them as bitches and what not. I don’t understand if all these people really follow the Indian culture? If so then women should not speak harshly and they have to be always polite and sweet to men ( mentioned in chanakya neeti). I don’t know if women having fun is against the Indian culture, then why should men have fun?  Is it not against the Indian culture? The invention of TV is not by an Indian. The idiot box also is a product of western culture. Then why are we encouraging these foreign products to sustain in this land of traditionalism? To that matter why are we using medicines from abroad for curing various cancers and health problems? It is because we have to live in this world.

Days changed and times also changed. It is only we human beings are not changing. Life is big and World is large. Explore as many possible things in life. Be broad and not narrow. Then one can enjoy life. We girls have reached great heights in life and will explore to the core. This stupid thinking of some useless TV channels will not dampen our spirits. If dancing with guys is considered to be wrong, then please create a separate world for you stereotypical people and have FUN only with guys when you cant provide safety to women. Grow up in life.

The same TV channel which calls itself to be the top most news channel in the AP, airs all sexually explicit content once the sun strikes the dawn. The TV channel which is against western culture airs all sexual and nude images, videos just to entice or grab the eyeballs or spread the effect of orgasms to the public.
